In the wooden chalet at the Wiehnachtsmärt, a few steps from Bahnhofstrasse, the caquelon is bubbling: traditional cheese fondue by candlelight, with choirs singing outside. Ideal for spontaneous visits, company dinners, groups and anything worth celebrating.

The chalet

Wood, candlelight, red curtains and sheepskins on the chairs: in the chalet you sit in the warm while the Singing Christmas Tree hums outside. On the table: a traditional cheese fondue, with

Company dinners & groups

A Christmas dinner with your team, a client event or a milestone birthday: the chalet brings everyone together. It seats around 35 guests, and up to 40 for a private party.

Frequently asked questions

  • Yes: on request, we open the chalet exclusively for companies, with room for up to 40 people. We are also happy to look at special formats, such as an evening with live music – the chalet has hosted that before. Write to info@singingchristmastree.ch or call Sabrina Buchenhorner on +41 44 422 00 06.

  • The Fondue Chalet seats around 35 people. For a private party, up to 40 people are possible.

  • Yes, we offer a vegan fondue. Anyone who cannot eat fondue at all can have something from one of our market stalls instead, such as tarte flambée. As the chalet is built around fondue, we limit such special requests to one or two people per group.

  • Yes, we strongly recommend it, as seats go fast. Book online via the «Reserve online» button. The cosy wooden chalet serves traditional cheese fondue with kirsch and a selection of teas; a vegan alternative is available on request.

  • The Fondue Chalet stands at the Wiehnachtsmärt on Werdmühleplatz, right next to the Singing Christmas Tree on lower Bahnhofstrasse. It is about a five-minute walk from Zurich main station, and the Bahnhofstrasse/HB tram stop is right next door.
